Selectmen appoint Suzanne Phipps, Mike Kolarski and Heather Croton; board lists multiple volunteer vacancies

The North Brookfield Board of Selectmen appointed three volunteers and listed additional openings during its July 15 meeting. Selectmen voted to appoint Suzanne Phipps as a full member of the Council on Aging and asked her to be sworn in by the assistant town clerk. Mike Kolarski was appointed as an alternate to the Finance Committee, and Heather Croton was appointed to the Cultural Council; all motions were seconded and approved by voice vote. The board also reviewed a list of remaining vacancies the town seeks to fill, including: town administrator, animal control officer, two fence viewers, assistant fire chief, harbor master, town hall agent, three members of the agricultural commission, additions to the capital improvement planning committee, alternates for the Council on Aging, members for the insurance advisory committee, the local public access committee, two positions for Parks and Recreation, Zoning Board of Appeals members and an assistant sewer superintendent. Selectmen asked people interested in serving to file volunteer forms with the town. Board members reminded new appointees they must be sworn in; the assistant town clerk’s office hours were given as 8 a.m. to noon for swearing-in appointments.
