Multiple MOAs were approved by unanimous votes: a GUS MOA for tuition reimbursement, a GTA MOA for tuition reimbursement, a GTA MOA for coaching leadership stipend, and acceptance of MOE vacation pay. The Teamsters food-service contract (agenda item 2.09) was moved by Mr. Maloney and seconded by Mr. Butler; Mr. Butler publicly thanked HR, Assistant Superintendent Larson, and Karen Casara for their work on the contract. The board approved the contract 9-0.
On the consent agenda the district accepted donations totaling $24,593.75, which included extra classroom activity funds for Arcadia High School, Athena High School, Athena Middle, Odyssey, and Olympia, a donation to the Linda Ingram scholarship from Mike Setzer and Patty Patterson, a violin from Roger and Kathy Herz, and a trumpet from John Montgomery. The consent agenda passed 9-0.
Deputy Superintendent Fleming reported district summer activity: more than 3,000 students were enrolled in summer camps and an extended-school-year program was serving over 300 special-needs students full day Monday through Thursday through mid-August.
