District 155 highlights micro‑internships, wins two national financial reporting awards and approves May graduates

Superintendent Dr. Lesinski told the board that 32 students across District 155 schools completed summer micro‑internships that included aviation at Rockford Airport, law enforcement with the Prairie Grove Police Department and museum curation with the Wisconsin Historical Society. He said students averaged 20 hours of real‑world experience and 93 students are registered for fall micro‑internships.
Lesinski also recognized the business office after the district received the ASBO International Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Government Finance Officers Association award for excellence for the district’s June 30, 2025 comprehensive financial report. He credited Assistant Superintendent Kevin Ward and the district business office staff by name for the awards.
At the superintendent’s request, the board voted to approve the district’s May 2025 graduates as listed in the board packet: a total of 1,283 graduates (396 from Cary Grove, 383 from Central, 305 from South and 299 from Prairie Ridge), and the motion passed by roll call.
Lesinski said the district will welcome administrators back for a leadership summit in two weeks focused on innovative instruction and professional learning for the upcoming school year.
