Administrators said the reconfiguration will create elementary, middle and high-school special-education coordinators who will meet regularly with corresponding curriculum coordinators to align instruction and interventions and make "our impact visible" next year. The move replaces the prior model in which supervisors covered multiple levels during the day and limited coordinated meetings between curriculum and special-education leadership.
The board also approved related personnel items and supplemental contracts as part of the consent agenda. Administrators said the change is intended to strengthen tier-1 instruction and coordinate tier-2 and tier-3 interventions by creating regular meeting schedules and clearer points of responsibility.
