Santaquin City Council approved staff’s request July 15 to proceed with procurement steps for a new vacuum (vac) truck, separating approval for the chassis and for the truck outfitting.
Public Works staff told the council the chassis vendor anticipates delivery in about 90 days; the custom outfitting (tanks, pumps, blowers and accessories) will take approximately nine months to complete. Staff said sufficient funding was reserved in capital projects and the storm-drain and capital-repair funds and that the formal budget will reflect the purchase for council approval on Aug. 7.
Council asked whether payment will be completed before delivery; staff said the purchase and budget are expected to be executed during the current fiscal year and that the city does not anticipate carrying the appropriation into the next fiscal year unless construction or manufacturing delays occur.
