Commissioners approve purchase of 18 sets of bunker gear for Fire Rescue

Chief Sullivan presented the item and said the $59,735.34 purchase from Municipal Emergency Services was budgeted in the current fiscal year and would outfit newly hired recruits and replace sets near expiration. He also said some recruits were currently using rental gear while in training.
A commissioner moved to approve the purchase and the board voted in favor by motion and second.
Next steps: Fire Rescue will receive the gear and place it in service for new and tenure-replacement firefighters as part of standard operational equipment replacement.
