City staff presented a fee-resolution regarding motor-driven vehicles and said the council previously supported increasing the minimum fee for violations "from 10 to a $100," while the maximum fine of $500 would remain unchanged. The item was included in the omnibus items the council approved 7–0 on July 14.
Staff said they have received public input about e-bikes and scooters and are "assessing the impact of the regulations" this summer. The city intends to return in about a month with a report and recommendations, including whether to revisit rules that govern e-bikes on the trail system.
The council did not debate the fee-resolution at length during the July 14 meeting; staff said they will prepare the follow-up report for council consideration.
