The commission agreed to pursue an update to its enabling code (ecode) to clarify roles and align the commission's language with current departments such as Transportation, Mobility & Parking. Members noted the current ecode predates TMP's creation and recommended coordination between the ordinance committee, commissioners and TMP staff.
Commission member Becca was identified as taking the lead alongside Tanner and the ordinance committee, though Becca was not available to discuss details at the July 14 meeting. Emily Burneman said the commission will make the ecode review an agenda item for the next meeting and that commissioners should coordinate offline to present an aligned proposal to TMP and the ordinance committee.
Greg advised commissioners to ensure they are "all together on the same page" before advancing to ordinance committee review; no formal amendments to the ecode were enacted at the meeting.
