Commission discusses bike‑valet logistics, storage access at Yankee Doodle Garage

"Coordinating the pickup and drop off of the supplies is between work hours Monday through Friday, 9 to 5," Emily Burneman said, noting that many volunteers work those hours. Commissioners asked whether alternative storage or an exception process could be arranged so supplies are easier to retrieve before weekend events.
Greg, speaking for Transportation, Mobility & Parking staff, said keys are tightly controlled and access outside weekday hours is difficult. He said staff could discuss options with the parking director and the parking authority. "I'd have to follow up with him and come back to you with a quick answer," Greg said.
Commissioners floated alternatives including library branches with weekend hours, asking that TMP coordinate conversations across departments, and identifying other city staff or community partners with garage access. Greg advised that the commission use the city's Click & Request system to report site‑specific issues and said TMP maintains inspectors on major construction projects.
No formal vote was taken. Greg agreed to raise the access question with the parking director and return with options; commissioners agreed to start conversations with possible alternate hosts such as library branches if TMP identifies feasible contacts.
