Summary
GeoSouthern Operating LLC gave formal notice of a temporary lay‑flat water line across county right of way on Wolf Creek Road, spanning roughly three‑quarters of a mile near the pads fronting 390; county staff said operations are expected to begin September and will require additional encroachment approval.
Washington County staff on Tuesday read a formal notice from GeoSouthern Operating LLC of a proposed temporary lay‑flat water line to be placed along the county right of way on Wolf Creek Road in Precinct 3.
County staff said the proposed line would run approximately three‑quarters of a mile along the west side of the roadway from near FM 1948 and would cross several driveways — three on the west side and three crossings total; on the opposite side staff said two crossings serve residences and one serves a barn. Staff explained the line is related to development of pads fronting off of 390 that were permitted in 2023 and that GeoSouthern plans to begin operations in September.
The county noted the route is the closest practicable option for GeoSouthern and that use of the county right of way would require approval from the county’s road and bridge/encroachment authorities. No formal county action was taken at the meeting; the item was presented as formal notice.
Staff said the proposal would also require temporary encroachment approval for work on FM 1948. County staff did not provide a final approval decision or indicate whether traffic control measures or compensation for right‑of‑way use had been negotiated.
