The Dahl Memorial Clinic executive committee on July 2 approved the pharmacy manager’s contract, contracts for pharmacy technicians and cashiers, a pharmacy premises lease and a short-term RV lease for staff housing, and the committee discussed plans for the pharmacy’s soft opening.
The committee approved the pharmacy manager contract with a salary range noted by Director Wall as $140,000 to $150,000 annually and described the salaried position as overtime-exempt. Wall said the equivalent hourly breakdown shown in the exhibit is about $70 per hour when annualized over 2,080 hours. The committee recorded roll-call approvals with Hager, Cremada and Chair Bob Dietrich voting yes.
Wall described the pharmacy manager, Jonah, as an energetic leader who “basically fell out of the sky on us through an Indeed application” and said the manager has already led staff and inventory efforts for the July opening. Wall said job descriptions and base-salary exhibits will be attached as exhibits to each contract and that salaried positions were written with short contract terms through the end of the year to allow renegotiation based on cash flow.
The committee approved a prorated RV lease to provide housing for a pharmacy technician. Wall described the RV as “large” and located next to the car wash; the lease is prorated from June 27 through the October end of the cruise season as a temporary housing solution. The committee also approved a lease for the pharmacy space with Virginia Long; the signed lease appears in the packet.
Board members noted the pharmacy’s planned soft opening schedule. Dietrich said there will be a local/senior preview with coffee and donuts at 9 a.m., followed by a general opening at 10 a.m. Wall said if the pharmacy proves financially viable after the initial season, the pharmacy manager may request a relocation or living stipend and the board would renegotiate contract terms at that time.
The committee was told many pharmacy-related contracts for seasonal roles end with the cruise season in October, while some salaried contracts were written to year-end. The committee approved all pharmacy-related contracts and leases in the agenda packet.
