The Parks and Recreation Commission voted June 19 to recommend that the borough mayor approve placement of an America250 Patriots marker proposed by the Alaska chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at Veterans Memorial Park.
The marker would recognize those who contributed to American independence and be placed adjacent to the park’s existing memorial area, staff said.
