The Lane County Board of Commissioners approved Order 25062413 on June 24, 2025, ratifying the existing Lane Council of Governments (LCOG) intergovernmental agreement and recognizing hearings-officer personnel arrangements. The order also appointed Rebecca Dorman to finish handling one pending case despite nonrenewal of her contract effective July 1.
Lead counsel Rob Bobette explained the item as a status-quo ratification while county staff work on a separate proposal to review hearings-officer selection and invitations for broader board involvement. Planning Director Amber Bell was present but had no additional remarks.
The board moved to ratify the IGA and appoint Rebecca Dorman for a limited matter pursuant to Lane Manual 3.100.015. The motion was seconded and passed by a 5-0 vote.
Ending: County counsel said staff will return to the board within the next month or two with options for selection and contracting of hearings officers, including possible RFP or direct-contract approaches.
