OKCPS sets hearing on recommended termination of several probationary teachers

The board scheduled the hearing for 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, 2025, in the Great Room of the Clara Luper Center for Educational Services, 615 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City.
The motion, presented as agenda item 3.05, acknowledged receipt of the superintendents recommendations and set the date, time and location for the hearing. The persons listed in the superintendents recommendation were Michael Dunn, Marion Analapo Keaney, Lucetta Phillips, Marisol Rodriguez, Gary Smith and Lakice Wicks. During discussion the board noted that one person on the list had resigned after the agenda was posted; that resignation was acknowledged on the record.
The board recorded a 6-0 vote to set the hearing. Because this is personnel action the transcript records limited public discussion; the board chair reminded members of the constraints on discussing personnel in open session.
