The City of Wichita City Council approved the Board of Bids and Contracts report dated June 30, 2025, awarding multiple construction, equipment and supply contracts and opening competitive procurement opportunities.
Josh Lauber from the Department of Finance presented the report. Major awards included an engineering/utility package to serve Prairie Glen Addition Phase 1 (aggregate total award to Noack Construction Co., Inc.) for $3,045,394.55 and the Wichita Valley Center flood control project lower levee drain installation Phase 3 to Dutton Construction Services LLC for $104,419.50. Purchasing awards included a 19,000 gross vehicle weight crew cab flatbed truck to Don Hatton Ford Inc. for an aggregate bid of $120,800 and a Caterpillar excavator to Foley Industries Inc. for $491,160.69. The city also approved purchase of an ammonia monochloramine analyzer from Hatch Company for $72,635.72 and a neighborhood cleanup tires contract with Mid Kansas Services LLC at $347 per ton; estimated annual supply of Solberg mil-spec synthetic foam for MES Service Company LLC was listed at $14,085.
Lauber noted the Purchasing calendar of events and vendor outreach, and staff recommended council approval. The council approved the report by a 6-0 roll call and directed staff to proceed with contracting and vendor onboarding as presented.
