The Wichita City Council voted to accept the Board of Bids and Contracts report and approve a set of procurement recommendations presented by the Department of Finance.
Josh Lauber reported the board recommended rejecting all bids for two engineering projects (water distribution to serve Buffalo Pines addition and sanitary sewer improvements for Clear Creek phases) and recommended awards for multiple purchasing items. Approved purchases and contract awards included a single-cab dual-wheel tire repair truck for Nation Distribution LLC ($79,898); renovation of the Wichita Police Department facility to Keeler Construction (aggregate $232,482); stormwater pump maintenance contract to FTC Equipment LLC (estimated annual $42,580, one-year term with up to one renewal); a 58,000 GVW restriction dump truck to Area Contracting Sales & Service ($181,771.83); meter box rings, lids and risers to Mountain Land Supply Co. ($452,195 for one year); a Doosan Bobcat compact track loader ($87,737.19); a Regenerative Air sweeper for the airport ($375,270); and software/subscription renewals including risk-management tools and wellness app renewals.
Lauber said the purchasing calendar of small-business outreach and vendor events was available for vendors. Council moved, seconded, and the motion to accept bids passed 6-0.
Several items were flagged as aggregate or multi-year renewals in the board report; council did not alter the recommendations during the meeting.
