Coos County commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement with Douglas County to rent juvenile detention bed space during the coming year.

County staff said the agreement allows up to 1,100 bed days at a cost not to exceed $154,000; any days used beyond that cap will be billed at $160 per day. The IGA requires approval by Douglas County before it takes effect for both parties.

The board moved and seconded to approve and sign the IGA; the motion passed by voice vote. County staff noted the arrangement is to ensure detention capacity while managing costs for juvenile detention services.
