Airport master plan update: FAA reviewing development alternatives; chapter 5 expected soon

Airport staff told the Aviation Advisory Board on June 4 that the airport master plan is in its final drafting stages and that the Federal Aviation Administration is reviewing the development alternatives presented at recent public open houses.
“John provided kind of just this quick one‑page update as to where we stand right now,” Scott Wagner, the airport manager, said. Staff said chapter 5 — the development alternatives chapter that incorporates the preferred layout from public input — is being drafted and that FAA central region planners have begun digesting concepts from the open houses.
Board members were told staff expects the narrative for the development alternatives chapter to be the next work product. Wagner said the consultant anticipates completing the assembled master plan roughly eight weeks after that chapter is finished, which would put a near‑final master plan on a likely August or possibly September timeline for further review.
The board discussed scheduling: if the plan is not ready by the August meeting, staff said it may present the draft at a September meeting. After the advisory board reviews the near‑final master plan, staff will forward its recommendation to the governing body for final adoption.
Wagner said staff will distribute chapter 5 to the board as soon as it is available and will notify board members when the complete draft is ready for review and comment.
