The district presented an anticipated three‑year total of $133,710 for the program; the expense will be paid annually from budgeted funds and the multiyear purchase required board approval.
Trustees asked operational questions about lanyards and whether cards are reusable. A district representative said the cards are perpetual: as long as a card remains in good condition it can be used year to year, and the district will be able to print replacement cards in‑house. Staff reported replacement cards could cost up to $5 under policies used by other districts, and that replacement fees could fund future replacement inventories. Trustees approved the purchase by motion and vote.
Administrators said parent notification and a code‑of‑conduct policy for lost cards will be developed; staff will provide details about lanyard options and replacement procedures during implementation.
