The commissioners approved an updated Cook County Library policy that removes obsolete services and updates formatting and signatures, the library staff member told the court. The staff member said the policy packet circulated to commissioners showed edits comparing the old policy with proposed changes, including removal of the library’s 3-D printing service because it has not been available since a roof leak nearly three years ago. She also said language referencing the Patriot Act was removed, and that the signature block was updated because the prior document still listed a former signatory. “I emailed you guys the actual updates… 1 of the things was we no longer offer the 3 d printing services since we had that roof leak 3 years ago… The Patriot Act was in there. It was a requirement. The Patriot Act has expired, so that needed to be removed,” the staff member said. Commissioner Snuggs moved to approve the updated policy; Commissioner Arndt seconded, and the court approved the item 5–0. The staff member added that the long-range plan separate from this policy will return to the court in November.
