The district—s organizational excellence team presented a year-end athletics summary and facilities update at the work session. The report noted 14 region championships across high schools, three team state championships (including a Bowden three-peat), and 22 middle-school championships; staff credited coaches and school communities for the accomplishments.
Facilities updates included turf-replacement projects, refurbishment of Bowden tennis courts, new bleachers and flooring at Mountain Zion and completion of batting cages for all middle schools. Project-specific updates indicated Mountain Zion—s four classrooms and band room were on schedule with a 100% fire-marshall inspection scheduled next Friday and the multipurpose building—s painting and most exterior concrete completed; staff said the multipurpose floor would be scheduled for work in August. Central Middle School renovations were reported near completion, with asphalt and interior finishes completed and a recent 100% fire-marshall inspection noted.
"We talk about our three A—s, academics, athletics, and fine arts. All three are extremely important for the learning of our students," said Glenn Harding during the update, and he thanked coaches and staff for long hours supporting students.
Board members praised students and staff for athletic success and expressed appreciation for facility maintenance and upgrades. No formal action was taken on facilities at the work session beyond informational updates.
