VDOT staff summarized the seven projects on the county’s list and explained an adjusted approach for Red Valley Road: to pave the populated ends of the route (about 0.6 miles on each end) rather than a continuous center section, which allowed the county to keep multiple projects on the list within the available allocation. Other projects in priority order include Novella Road, a section of Webster Road (Route 744), Timberline Road, Stave Mill Road (Route 795), Narrows Road (Route 881) and Clark Road.
Supervisors asked questions about timing and the possible removal of other roads from the secondary six‑year plan; VDOT staff said scheduling depends on the available allocation and that Red Valley and Novella work could begin in the near term. The board adopted the plan on a roll‑call vote.
