Medina County Showbiz youth cast urges city support for free Theatre in Our Youth program

Medina County Showbiz representatives Vicky Jackson and Angela Wanderly introduced the program, saying it has operated for more than 45 years and offers a free youth program that depends on ticket sales, corporate sponsors and community grants. Jackson and Wanderly said rental revenue from the Medina County administration building helps fund theater improvements such as sound and lighting equipment.
Three young cast members — Reagan Aldridge (recent Brunswick High School graduate and 2025 Medina County Showbiz scholarship recipient), Isaac Bratt and Trevor Haywood — each spoke about their experience in the program and encouraged residents to attend performances of High School Musical over the next two weekends. Aldridge described Showbiz as a ‘‘safe space’’ and noted the program also awards scholarships and provides ongoing mentorship.
No formal council action was requested or taken during the remarks; council members thanked the performers and invited them to remain for the meeting. The presentation was recorded during the public-introduction segment of the meeting.
