Birdville ISD trustees swear in two newly elected members and elect board officers

The Birdville ISD Board of Trustees administered the oath of office to two recently elected trustees and unanimously elected officers at the May 22, 2025 regular meeting.
The two newly elected trustees were sworn in by Brenda Rittenberry, the BISD election clerk and notary. Shortly afterward the board conducted nominations and votes for officer positions. Trustee Joe Tober was nominated and elected board secretary; Brenda Sanders Wise was elected vice president; and Ralph Kunkel was elected president. Each motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The actions followed the board’s reconvening into open session at 7:03 p.m. after an earlier closed session. Dr. Stinson confirmed that the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act when the meeting was called to order.
The board did not record individual roll-call votes within the public minutes; each election was announced as unanimous. No amendments or alternate slates were introduced and the board moved on to recognitions and the remainder of the agenda.
Board President Ralph Kunkel and the new officers will serve in their assigned roles for the coming year, and the board resumed other business after the brief organizational items.
