Grants administrator outlines SR 20 focus in Safe Streets for All application

Wendy Horn, the city’s grants administrator, told the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission on July 14 that Oak Harbor’s Safe Streets for All (SS4A) application is guided by local crash data and that the critical project area in Oak Harbor is the SR 20 corridor between Southwest Sixth Avenue and Northeast Seventh Avenue.

Horn said she provided the commission with the city’s portion of the comprehensive safety action plan and noted that crash data for Oak Harbor appears on page 89 of the packet she distributed. “I highlighted from Southwest Sixth Avenue to Northeast Seventh Avenue are the critical areas that we are focusing on with this grant if we do get it,” Horn said.

Horn offered to follow up on technical questions and said city engineer Alex Horner would answer additional questions in writing if needed. Commission members asked for Horn’s packet to be sent electronically so they could review the maps and data.
