St. Tammany curriculum staff told the board July 10 that a companion guide for newly adopted high‑school psychology textbooks has been completed and reviewed at a recent community forum.

The guide, developed collaboratively by psychology teachers across the district, is aligned to national standards and was revised after feedback gathered at the forum, staff said. The district plans to communicate the guide to parents through course syllabi and programs of study so families can make informed elective choices.

Board members asked where to find the guide. Staff said the update is available on Board Docs and that a copy can be emailed to board members; one board member asked to review the guide prior to any formal approval. Staff described the work as intended to provide classroom guidance and to offer teachers structured support when covering sensitive topics.

No vote or formal adoption of the guide was recorded at the July 10 meeting; staff characterized the item as an update and said the companion guide would be shared with parents and board members for review.
