The Board of Public Works on June 23 approved a quote from Farner Asphalt Sealers LLC for $130,575.15 to complete the city's 2025 long-line street striping program, funded from the street department operating budget.
Director Gallagher told the board the work repaints long lines on streets classified as collector or higher to maintain retro-reflectivity and clarity, as required by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. He noted the cost of the program has risen over the years and that the city received a single responsive quote; the city has used the same contractor in prior years.
The board voted to approve the contract; staff said the work covers streets the city commits to maintain with longitudinal markings, not local residential streets that do not meet striping criteria.
