Javier Rabbon, president of Mission Crime Stoppers, said the group’s golf tournament fundraiser raises money for upcoming community programs, including its Turkey Drive, National Night Out and Contra Kids. "We're trying to raise funds, and these funds are going towards the events that we're having here in the future, which is our Turkey Drive, our National Night Out, and also our Contra Kids," Rabbon said.
Rabbon described steady community support for the tournament, saying, "As you see the banners, the sponsors, the support is there. We've got a lot of, attorneys, private businesses, individuals. They remember the golf tournament from the previous years. They call us every year, when is it gonna be? They always have a lot of fun." He said the event typically includes food and that organizers explain to attendees how raised money will be used. "We've always got a lot of food. It's a good time. We we express to them the gratitude, where the money is going, what it's for, and, they love it," Rabbon said.
The transcript did not specify a date, location or fundraising target for the golf tournament. No formal action or vote was recorded during the public comment in which Rabbon spoke.
