City engineer Jones briefed the Roads & Safety Committee and council July 10 on the Seasons & Allen traffic signal project, a planned installation with an estimated total cost of about $350,000. The city has received a $300,000 transportation improvement district grant toward the project; remaining costs will be shared with the city of Hudson, Jones said.
Staff told the committee they plan to solicit bids in August‑September; poles have a current lead time around 32 weeks, and substantial work may span winter foundations and underground work with major work expected next spring.
In the Planning Committee and council meetings, staff also presented a request (Resolution 2025‑151) authorizing the mayor to file applications for Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding for four projects: a Stowfish Creek roundabout, Norton Road signal improvements (a joint project with Hudson), Steel Corners Road signal improvements, and a two‑way left turn lane on Graham Road. Staff said those projects match types favored by the CMAQ evaluators and will compete at the state level for funds.
Council authorized the traffic project to go to the council agenda and adopted the CMAQ application resolution later in the meeting.
