The Apple Valley City Council adopted two resolutions on July 10 formally denying applications to amend the city’s zoning text to allow cannabis microbusinesses in specified districts and planned developments.
Sydney, a planning staff member, told the council the Planning Commission held public hearings and on May 7 recommended denial; the council had previously reviewed the matter on June 12 and directed staff to prepare resolutions of denial. The two items denied were: an amendment to Planned Development No. 409 (chapter 155, appendix F, article 16) to allow a cannabis microbusiness, and an amendment to section 155.320 to allow cannabis microbusinesses in planned developments.
Council motions to adopt the resolutions passed by voice vote. The council’s action codifies earlier recommendations and does not authorize any new cannabis microbusiness locations; staff will file the resolutions of denial in the public record.
