The Plainfield Community School Corp. board opened a first reading for a package of revised and new board policies to reflect recent legislative changes and approved the deletion of Board Policy D250, which had governed a teacher-appreciation grant.

During the meeting the board listed the policy codes included in the first reading: A100, B100, B150, B200, C125, C175, C200, C225, C425, D200, D325, E200, F125, G350, G360 and H100. These policy revisions are being circulated for review before the board takes a final vote at a later meeting.

Separately, the board took a first- and second-reading action on the deletion of Board Policy D250 and approved that deletion at the meeting. Board members stated the policy could no longer remain in effect because the underlying teacher-appreciation grant authority no longer applies; the packet notes that deletion is being enacted now and the motion to delete carried.

Board President said the first readings will remain available for review prior to final action on the other revised and new policies. No public comments on policies or nonagenda items were recorded in the transcript.
