The Plainfield Community School Corp. board on July meeting cycle approved the financial summary for the month ended June 30, 2025, accepted claims 69383–69607 and authorized payments tied to storage-facility work at Brentwood and Clarks Creek.
The financial summary presented to the board showed the district about halfway through the 2025 budget year: Education Fund expenditures at 47.7%, Debt Service Fund at 48% and Operations Fund at 39.41%. The district reported a cash balance of $34,287,991 and interest income for the month of $87,494. The board also approved a transfer of $435,064 from the education fund into the operations fund.
The claims docket covered checks numbered 69383 through 69607 and was described at the meeting as a roughly $15,000,000 payment docket. The district also recorded semiannual debt-service payments in the packet, listing $9,132,166 in semiannual debt payments to US Bank.
The finance presentation called out several vendor payments: a $281,000 payment to Garmont Construction for ongoing pool HVAC construction-management fees; an annual fire-system inspection trigger payment of about $12,155; and a $15,859 payment to CSO charged to fund 2190. The board was told the CSO payment is for storage facilities work at Brentwood and Clarks Creek and that those expenditures will be reimbursed to the district from the town as the projects settle.
Board members did not request additional information before voting to approve the financial summary and the claims docket.
The approvals allow the district to continue current capital and operational work, including wrapping up the pool HVAC project and advancing the Brentwood and Clarks Creek storage projects pending reimbursement.
