During discussion, a county engineering staff member identified as Patrick told commissioners the work was “in our wheelhouse” and could be accommodated as a fill‑in project when staff schedules permit, so it would not overstretch the department early in the fiscal year.
Commissioner Shane asked that the county not overextend its deposits or staff as the year begins; Patrick said the timeline is open and the town had indicated the project will proceed at the town’s pace. Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the Millis request, and the motion passed on a voice vote with commissioners answering “Aye.”
