HAMPSTEAD — The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a sign application for a new primary-care clinic at 1302 North Main Street and reviewed other routine zoning and appearance matters, the commission reported at the council meeting.
Why it matters: The sign approval signals an imminent opening of a primary care facility that the meeting said will provide diabetes management, cholesterol management, weight counseling and some aesthetic services.
The commission approved a white circular sign and a window logo for GAH Wellness Clinic at 1302 North Main. A commission member described the clinic’s operator as a board-certified nurse practitioner who will offer chronic disease management and aesthetic treatments including Botox and dermatology creams. The commission also approved a zoning certificate at 1020 South Main to replace 40-year-old siding with a new reddish clay color.
The commission discussed the 2024 Carroll County Water Resources element draft, which staff said jurisdictions must adopt as part of comprehensive-plan updates to evaluate water supply, wastewater and stormwater in relation to projected demand. Carroll County Department of Planning reported that a water/sewer master plan amendment will be sent to county commissioners in mid-July.
Ending: The Planning and Zoning update was provided for council information; no council action on these planning items was recorded at the meeting.
