The Humboldt Unified governing board adopted the district’s expenditure budget for the 2025–26 school year at the July 10 meeting, while noting the state’s late budget guidance will require a revision in September.
Staff reported the Arizona auditor general released updated budget forms after the June deadlines and that the state budget legislation will produce adjustments — including a 2% or inflationary increase and a base level support adjustment tied to Proposition 123/125-type changes — that district staff expect to reflect in a September budget revision. "There will be a September revision," staff said, explaining the timing and statutory constraints on public posting of budget notices.
Motion and vote: Doctor Dellinger moved to adopt the expenditure budget for 2025–26; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Why this matters: Adoption establishes spending authority for the coming fiscal year; staff will return with a revision after updated state allocations are incorporated.
Next steps: Staff will publish and submit the adopted budget, then prepare the September revision to incorporate state adjustments and formalize grant or base-support allocations as clarified by the Arizona Department of Education and auditor general forms.
