The Sawyer County Land, Water and Forest Resources Committee approved a direct timber sale of Track‑38‑21 to Roger Hoyt at the minimum bid value of $36,105 after the sale attracted no successful competitive bids during multiple solicitations.
County forestry staff said the sale had been advertised several times without receiving bids; under county and state policy, a direct sale may be used when a parcel receives no competitive bids. Staff noted Roger Hoyt has purchased county timber sales in the past and is interested in the parcel.
A committee member moved to accept the sale to Hoyt; another member seconded and the motion carried on a voice vote. Forestry staff will finalize sale paperwork and proceed with standard timber‑sale administration, performance bond enforcement and inspection requirements.
