COPTA renews management and mowing agreement with Oklahoma Railway Museum, estimated $39,942 annual cost

Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority trustees approved Renewal No. 1 and Amendment No. 3 to the professional services agreement with the Oklahoma Railway Museum for management and operations of historic railroad equipment and mowing services, for an estimated annual cost of $39,942, retroactive to July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. Staff described the relationship as long-standing: the museum operates historic equipment near 60 Third and I-35 and maintains right-of-way mowing that COPTA owns. In 2020 the agreement was amended and restated to add mowing services; the current renewal continues that arrangement and allows the museum to operate equipment within the right of way while providing mowing to control vegetation. The motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no separate questions recorded. Staff invited trustees to coordinate a site visit to the Oklahoma Railway Museum for anyone who had not seen the facilities.
