COPTA approves $49,381.29 change order for First American Museum riverboat landing; total change orders under 10% cap

Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority trustees on July 11 approved change order number 3 with Manhattan Road & Bridge Inc. for work on the First American Museum (FAM) riverboat landing, increasing the contract by $49,381.29. Staff said the additional work grew from grading and site-edge landscaping that extended slightly outside the original contract boundary and requires “core mat” sodding to stabilize planted areas. The change order also adds two stair lights, camera equipment at the landing and associated cabling. The staff presentation said the cumulative total for change orders 1–3 is $177,426, or about a 2.59% increase over the original contract amount — “still within our or under our 10% max for change orders,” according to the transcript. Staff estimated the landing would be completed later this summer or early fall, around August or September, and said the authority will hold a ribbon-cutting when finished. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the change order by voice vote; no member requested separate consideration. The approval preserves contingency room under the board’s 10% change-order guideline.
