Member Steve Pilcher and member Schiff Miller, who attend the ongoing design meetings, reported on recent public and on-site reviews. Member Schiff Miller said an on-site meeting June 27 and subsequent online review led the design team to choose Option B as the basis for 60% design work. “Option b was decided upon as the 60% design review,” Schiff Miller said. He added that Option B “includes connectivity” between the River Trail and Acequia Trail, responding to public input that emphasized continuous trail connections.
Schiff Miller and other technical reviewers noted that Option B does not include on-street bike lanes for the roadway portion; reviewers acknowledged the limitation and said the decision reflected trade-offs in the design and funding constraints. The technical review team will continue meeting biweekly and report on the 60% design and any changes at future BPAC meetings.
The committee did not take any formal action on the Henry Lynch item during the meeting; members were advised that design meetings will continue every other Monday and that the technical review committee will bring updates to BPAC.
