Council authorizes contracts for airport apron rehab and North Apron access road services

Staff said the project will be funded with Federal Aviation Administration and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) funds. Council voted to authorize the city manager to proceed with negotiation and execution of the contract. Staff also presented a separate professional services contract: Talbot Brite Ellington (presented as Talbot Bridal Ellington in the record) was the recommended firm for construction administration services for the North Apron Access Road; the contract amount presented was $399,421.59. The council authorized the city manager to negotiate and execute that contract as well. Both items were moved and approved during the presentations/petitions portion of the agenda; staff indicated the items had been reviewed at the Tuesday work session and recommended for council action.
