Marcus Williamson, public works director, said the adoption supports the city's efforts to pursue grants and remain in compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System.
Staff told the council that acceptance of the countywide LMS is a prerequisite for certain hazard mitigation grant opportunities and could help the city secure reimbursement or competitive scoring for projects. Council approved the resolution unanimously after a short staff overview.
Action: Motion to adopt resolution 25-08 passed unanimously. Staff indicated the LMS adoption will support specific grant applications identified by the public works department.
