During the discussion commissioners asked about permitted heights and ornamental detail; staff said the standard rock-wall template calls for a 3-foot wall in most places, ornamental sections may follow dips and valleys, and a 5-foot wall is allowed for security where appropriate. Commissioner Ricardo Rocha moved for conditional approval “pending that everything stays the same as presented,” and Commissioner Rafael Padilla seconded. Padilla, Rocha and Jesse Montelongo voted aye and the motion carried.
The applicant was not present; staff noted the applicant had notified the commission of a planned family vacation. The commission's approval is conditional on strict adherence to the submitted design and materials; any alterations to the approved plan must come back to the commission for review.
