The owner of a commercial property at 1823 Longwood Lake Mary Road was ordered to obtain required permits for exterior lighting and electrical conduit work or face financial penalties. The special magistrate set a compliance date of Sept. 10, 2025, and said a fine of $200 per day would apply if the property was not brought into compliance.
Ruth Goldstein, program coordinator for the Building Division, told the magistrate that inspections dating to Aug. 8, 2024, found new lighting and exterior electrical conduits installed without the required permits. The county’s records show a prior permit (19-17412) for site lighting had once been issued and expired; a new application is under review and the owner said they will hire an electrician to pull the necessary permits.
Brent Griffin is the inspector assigned to verify compliance. The property owner or representative told the magistrate they had acquired the property in February 2022 and were coordinating with an electrician and the building division to reissue or obtain the appropriate permit documents. Magistrate ordered that the property obtain the proper building permits by Sept. 10, 2025, or face a $200-per-day fine; a compliance hearing was scheduled for Sept. 11, 2025.
