Superintendent Robert Fisicaro and school leaders praised Moore Middle School’s Class of 2025 at the promotion ceremony, highlighting students’ personal growth and academic achievement as they prepare for high school.

“Dear students, this moment matters. You've worked hard, you've grown fast, and today, you officially grew up to high school,” Superintendent Robert Fisicaro said, reflecting on the district’s recovery since the pandemic and singling out school leadership for credit. He thanked Principal Swazinski and Assistant Principal Kelly Reising and said the progress “has very little to do with myself or ... central office” and instead reflects local school leadership and staff.

Fisicaro advised graduates on the transition to high school, telling them, “You don't need to find yourself in high school. You will have an opportunity to create yourself. 1 choice, 1 action, and 1 day at a time.” He also warned against comparing themselves to others and urged focus amid distractions.

Assistant Principal Kelly Reising described the school’s guiding values and introduced student reflections. Several students delivered short speeches using Disney and Pixar films as themes to summarize lessons about persistence, identity, and friendship; one student repeatedly urged classmates to “just keep swimming” as they head into high school.

The ceremony also included academic awards by subject and recognition of eighth-graders who made the principal’s list for all three years. Academic excellence awards named students across mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, physical education, music, art and world languages; the school then called members of the Class of 2025 individually for applause and photographs. At the conclusion, the yearbook advisor, Mrs. Miller, directed families to the cafeteria for photos and instructions on gown returns and certificate pickup.
