The New Milford Board of Education said Wednesday it will resume in-person public meetings and begin live-streaming sessions for residents who cannot attend in person.
Board President Andrews told the meeting the district plans to post a draft live-streaming policy and, once it is approved, begin posting recordings of meetings online. Technology staff said they can live-stream the meeting and, after the policy is confirmed, post prior live-stream recordings to the district site.
The board framed the move as an accessibility measure for residents who cannot attend in person. President Andrews said the district already posted the draft policy and that the technology team will post recordings once the board confirms the policy.
Dan Preet, the district technology lead, told the meeting he has the ability to live-stream meetings and to upload previous recordings once the policy is finalized. Board members said the district—s intention is to begin posting meetings starting with the current session after the board adopts the formal policy.
No board vote was taken on the policy at the meeting; board members said the draft will be brought forward for approval and that the district will share details with the public when the policy is finalized and posted online.
