At the May 27 meeting, board leadership reported that negotiators reached a tentative memorandum of agreement with the Pequannock Township Education Association on May 19.
Mister Senec, speaking for the board, said: "On May 19, a tentative memorandum of agreement was reached between the board and Pekwannock Township Education Association. The memorandum of agreement was reached in good faith... The terms of the memorandum of agreement will remain confidential until fully ratified." (text as read at the meeting).
Board officials said the respective negotiating committees are working to develop salary guides; once salary guides are complete the committees will present terms to their constituencies for ratification. The board did not vote on the agreement at the May 27 meeting and no detailed financial terms were disclosed at the meeting.
The report was informational; board members did not take formal action on the MOA at that session.
