PSA reports LED replacements and new SCADA connectivity at treatment sites

Carroll County Public Service Authority staff reported on June 2 that treatment-plant operations are stable, that crews are replacing aging LED lights, and that a new SCADA system has been installed on several computers and is improving communications.
Mike, PSA staff member, said the plant is "still running real well" though staff experienced "one little hiccup." He said crews are replacing LED lights as they wear out and that staff have not yet begun a screen-installation process because materials are not yet in stock.
On supervisory control and data acquisition, Mike said the PSA "did have the group come in and install them on several computers. So it is up and running. You're able to use it now. We are having communication with the sites, so it's a big improvement." He added the authority is still waiting for AEP to complete electrical work at two sites to finalize connections.
Why it matters: SCADA connectivity reduces downtime and helps staff monitor treatment sites remotely. The LED replacements are routine maintenance; the authority said screen-install work will begin once parts arrive.
