Plano to start $16.1 million Plano Parkway sewer upgrade; lane closures expected

Plano announced it will begin a $16,100,000 sewer improvement project on Plano Parkway between Coit Road and Independence Parkway to increase sewer capacity for current and planned development. Steve Stoler, Plano’s media relations director, said one lane in each direction will remain open during the work.
The project matters because it is intended to expand sewer capacity ahead of anticipated development in that portion of Plano. Stoler told listeners the work is expected to require lane closures but that “1 lane of traffic will always be open in both directions.”
City officials said work hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the expected completion timeframe is spring 2027. Stoler directed residents to plano.gov/roadconstruction for updates on this and other road projects. The announcement did not specify the project’s funding sources or phasing schedule.
