Needham hires MAPC to assess municipal parking lots for solar canopies

“The plan is for that project to be completed by December,” staff said during the manager’s report. MAPC will perform a GIS assessment of a prioritized list of roughly 15 parking lots and produce guidance on siting, permitting considerations, options for ownership versus power‑purchase agreements and related issues such as stormwater and landscaping.
