Anna described environmentally friendly materials and presented a $500 budget; she said some materials will be donated or provided at no cost.
Board members asked practical questions about the pilot nature of the project; Anna said the plan is to start with a single storm drain mural to evaluate public response and paint performance before expanding. The proposed location is on North Madison Avenue in front of Art Studio. The board moved and seconded a contribution request, took a voice vote and the motion passed with all members saying "aye." The motion authorized staff to submit the request for the $500 contribution.
The presenter and board discussed links between the mural and the city’s GIS efforts. Anna said staff is working with the GIS team to add the mural to an interactive ArcGIS map so the mural can become part of a broader outreach effort.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the contribution; no formal contracts or further approvals were described at the meeting. The board closed the item after approving the funding and exchanging brief logistics about next steps.
